Modern World History: Nationalism-good or bad?
I think Nationalism is terrible! People need to look out for others who take pride in their country. They are people to fear. Loving your country is the ultimate vanity. Especially since you don't choose what country you were born in. I think it makes more since to love your hairstyle. At least you have some control over that. Am I right or wrong?

i think that nationalism is not good because its dangerous. being happy of what country you live in and then leaving it at that is not bad.. but when you over exagerate then its not good.
I think that Nationalism is not a good thing because people tend to get to in to there country and start to go out of control a lot of people end up thinking that the only thing that matters is there country and that the people in ther country do not matter as much. It just could be a very bad thing.
i think nationalism can be good because it can keep you out of other countries and their problems. You don't want to get too involved because it could create war. it can also be bad though because it could keep you from having alliances if you dont help out other people.
I think nationalism is ok...i donno... i guess you could say it'd be baad if you extend the meaning of what you really mean...but other than that i think itd be ok...
I think that is rediculous. no one ever said you have to love the country you were born in. A person from japan could move here and love their country more than them selves and it would still be nationalism. There is no reason to fear someone for a strong beleif in their country.
I do not think that nationalism is good thing at all. If people are too nationalistic, they will start doing whatever the leaders of the country tell them too and not even questioning it. Isn't that kind of what happened in nazi germany?
i think nationalism is good, but to an extent, because you need it in order to have pride, but with too much, people will end up doing stupid things for their country.
nationalism could be a good or bad thing because it just matters how you look at it. but i think that it's a good thing when it comes to war.
i think nationalism can be good. You should love the country you live in and not worry about other countries. If we werent so involved with other countries we wouldnt be in this war still. I dont think people should be totally nationalist but some is a good thing.
Peronsally I think that too much nationalism is a bad thing and it's annoying. I mean yeah it's good to have pride in your country but when you run around outside in the snow in just american flag boxers and holding an american flag is kind of creepy. Also if you have too much pride in your country you can end up doing some stupid stuff. It can also cause a lot of conflict with a lot of people.

Nationalism is a great thing but it should be never be adopted as a permanent lifestyle. It is important that we have pride and faith in our country... However, no one should acquiesce to the ignorant attitude that extreme nationalists have. Nationalism is an awesome thing to posess if you are open minded to other countries and other cultures. But if one's country is all you know of the world and you accept everything about your country, Nationalism on a large scale, is the kind of thing that blinds people enough to make Dictators seem justified in killing six million Jewish people.
I think that nationalism is both good and bad. I think having pride in your country is good but if you are hyper obsessive about it then it is a very bad thing. Everything in portion is good, but once you start adding more and more it turns dangerous very fast.
I think that nationalism is a good thing. It is good when people show their support for their country. I dont think that there is such a thing as having too much nationalism because your pride for you counrty is something that nobody can take away, its like cheering on your favorite sports team. Everyone has their favorite team and there will always be rivalries. It makes it more interesting.
I believe that all cases of Nationalism were started out to be for the benefit of the country and all its citizens. To an extent nationalism creates opportunity to unite a country and focus the direction of the country's progress. It becomes a hindrance once the drive of the country takes a negative approach towards other countries. When nationalism reaches such an extreme that tension is building between countries it can become dangerous. Personally I do not believe that nationalism is a bad thing, I simply think that it needs to be carefully monitored.
i believe nationalism is more good than bad. This is because having pride in your country is never a bad thing, infact it is exponentially better than hating your country. on the other hand if you have to much pride you will become conceded and forget about helping the other more needy countries in the world.
Nationalism can be good or bad I would say in different aspects. There are two types;he negative face turns away from global responsiblities and the positive one embraces domestic ones. Both believe that America should come first. Although, Nationalism got us into two wars, nationalism due to our country coming together following 911 and the whole world patting us on the back and telling us they would help was good.
