This blog is for the students of Liberty High School. This is an open forum for them to discuss class projects, events and interact with each other about the history they have experienced in class.

American History: Did we really need Progressivism?

Do you think we really needed people like Jane Addams, Jacob Riis, and Theodore Roosevelt to step in and change politics, society, economics and civil rights issues? Isn't it true that these people were just busy-bodies trying to meddle in the lives of other people? Who did they think they were? Some people want and like to be poor or poorly treated. These Progressives were just goody-two-shoes trying to get their names in the history books. Do you agree with me or not? Make sure you use facts to support your arguements.

I think they did need people like Jane Addams, Jacob Riis, and Theodore Roosevelt. Even though at times it might seem like they are stepping into peoples lifes they are really just helping them. I also think that no wants and likes to be poor, these people helped under privelaged people by showing them how to live and make money.

i agree with kaitlyn. They are just helping and just think of where we would be today with out them. Like kaitlyn said it may seem like there in random peoples lifes but they are actually making life better for us all!
