Amercian History: Cowboy's and Settlers

What is the most admirable characteristic of the Cowboy's and settlers that you can think of? Why is this trait admirable? Is there any trait that that they had back then that we are missing today? Is there a trait that they had that is not a good trait for humans to have?

The cowboys had many admirable traits as well as not very admirable traits. They were ambitious, and they got things done. They stuck together and fought as a team. They did not allow anyone to rule them, but they stuck up for what they believed in. People today could use the trait of sticking up for what you believe in, and thinking for yourself.

The cowboys had many good qualities, one is that when their were situations that were not planned for, the cowboys would always find a solution to figure out what would be best for them to keep on moving and succeding. I think this is a very important trait and people today lack that quality. Many people, when things happen that aren't expected they do not know how to fix the problem and keep moving on. Many of us today when problems occur we depend on other people to fix it for us.

The most admirable characteristic of the cowboy’s and settlers would be their bravery and perseverance. This is the most admirable because they didn’t give up no matter what hardships they were forced to face. The fact that they were doing this to not only receive a better life for themselves, but also for their children and future generations made it very admirable.

The most admirable characteristic of the Cowboy's and settlers would be is toughness. They went through something that people today dont even think about. Cowboys had a horse, gun, cattle, and a little bit of land and thats all they had to make something with their life and earn money. Cowboys and settlers came from all over and they did everything they could to get by and get started. I think alot of people today are missing the tough factor because I bet not half of our population would be able to make it by in the 1800s. So many people rely on others and are so spoiled with material objects that they wouldnt know what to do. I think that they way that cowboys and settlers felt like they could kill who ever they wanted and hang all those people that is not a good trait for humans cause we should be more civilized.
